I’m home now, but not after a stressful day. It’s a good thing I woke up early and headed for the airport. I met a nice Mexican girl who said she was coming to Banff on the shuttle but more importantly, I needed every minute of my 3 hours at the airport before my flight. I went to check in, the girl at the ticket office said that I had been cancelled. It’s a long story, but I’ll try to condense it.
The girl at the American Airlines ticket office in Caracas told me that she would make sure my flight from Rio was cancelled, but to save the Dallas to Calgary part of the trip. This never happened, and after a lot of talking to the ticket agent, he basically told me I was fucked by the Airline, and there was nothing he nor his supervisor could do for me other than sell me another ticket. It was time for Western Union again. I got in touch with Dad, and he bailed me out. I’m going to Email asking for a refund, the write a letter and of those fail, sue. Even if a lawyer gets all the money, I sure as hell don’t want American Airlines to have it.
It’s good to be home. Now I’m going to wax up the skis and work myself out of debt.
